Social sofas on map

Gerrit Janssen, a hobby photographer, has taken the Social Sofas as a theme and not only takes beautiful photos of the social sofas but also records where the sofas are located. This has created a map of social sofas. Not yet complete, but benches are being added every time.

Short introduction
There are colorful benches in various places in the Netherlands. They are made of many thousands of small mosaic tiles. A nice item to photograph and learn more about. In 2019 I became a member of fotoclub.nl. Within this club, several specific clubs have been created by the members. One of these is the 52 week club. At the end of 2020 I was looking for a theme for the 52 weeks club for 2021. There are several of these mosaic benches in my hometown of Veldhoven. I've always liked this one. This is how the idea arose to photograph it in 2021.

In the beginning you just photograph them. However, you soon start looking on the internet to see where these can be found. There you will find out that there are already more than 1,500 Social Sofas in the Netherlands. And each with its own story. I wanted to capture more of this.
